Everyone should know about Community-Centric Fundraising! It is a model for rethinking decades (centuries?) old fundraising values.
From CCF's site, "Community-Centric Fundraising is a fundraising model that is grounded in equity and social justice. We prioritize the entire community over individual organizations, foster a sense of belonging and interdependence, present our work not as individual transactions but holistically, and encourage mutual support between nonprofits."
I first heard of Community-Centric Fundraising in 2020. Former colleagues and I lamented about how we were expected to acknowledge donors who centered themselves over the people our organizations served. Even if it felt it was compromising our personal values around fundraising and communications. And when I thought I was doing everything with good conscious, CCF challenges us to think even deeper about how we can fundraise more equitably.
Please read, learn, share and think about how Community-Centric Fundraising can be incorporated into your organization.

CCF walks the path paved by the Grassroots Institute for Fundraising Training, The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, Non-Profit Anti-Racism Coalition, Social Justice Fund Northwest, Western States Center, INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence’s seminal work The Revolution Will Not Be Funded: Beyond the Nonprofit Industrial Complex, as well as the work of Angela Davis, Audre Lorde, Grace Lee Boggs, James Baldwin, and many, many other leaders and organizations."
